The philosophical belief of Vivekanada has influenced me since my days as a student, where his thoughts about “education not only being a powerful tool to acquire knowledge, but also important for formation of an ideal character and development of social trait and values” enthused me to hone my skills not only in terms of learning but instilling good values and being open to engage with people from all walks of life and be able to accept criticism and comments and to reflect on the issues to learn from them and possibly make things better.
TEACHING & MENTORING
I am quite influenced by the social and political ideology of noted Indian leader, scholar, and social reformer B R Ambedkar. His work for the downtrodden and women, especially for political rights and social freedom has always inspired me. In the field of culture, I am influenced and motivated by the works of Jean Roche, and my parents Vijoy and Mira Kishore, who dedicated their life for the protection and promotion of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
I teach primarily in Film and Television Production area. My forte in teaching includes, Film/Television/Media Production, Direction, Cinematography, Editing, Television Studio Production, Film Studies (Asian, Indian Cinema), new media/online media, Communication Theory and Research, media and Society, Celebrity Studies, and Popular and Folk Culture.
