The Galena Juju Dance group, from Balinyongamezam, Cameroon, has been working for the promotion of its traditional culture. It also intends to reduce the poverty among the young people coming from this region located at the North-West of Cameroon. The Galena Juju dance is a mesmerizing form with the mix of rituals and religion and magic. Juju refers to supernatural power and is used for healing the sick and for protection. The wooden masks worn by the dancers are very specific; to the extent they represent simultaneously animals and family... In a general way, each of those dances is part of daily life.
